Vinea Rosé limited-edition beverage packaging inspired by South Slovak craft

A limited edition inspired by grapes and craft

Vinea Rosé is a limited edition made from Svatovavřinecké Rosé grapes from South Slovakia, with fruity notes of wild strawberries, pomegranate, and cherries. The packaging needed to express this fresh and vibrant character while still feeling connected to Vinea’s long-standing passion for grapes.

The result was a concept that brings together flavour, tradition, and craftsmanship in one visual story.

Step 1: Finding inspiration in folk craft

The creative direction was inspired by traditional wood carving and wire shaping, continuing Vinea’s connection to local craft. These techniques introduced a raw, handmade quality into the design and helped create a visual language that feels authentic and distinctive. The contrast between traditional craftsmanship and the fresh character of Rosé became one of the key ideas behind the packaging.

Step 2: Creating the artwork by hand

The grapevine illustration was created physically rather than digitally. Its forms were carved and burned directly into wood, giving the artwork natural texture, irregularities, and visible traces of the making process. These imperfections became part of the final design, making the packaging feel more tactile, expressive, and rooted in real craftsmanship.

Step 3: Bringing the flavour into the design

The flavour profile of Rosé was brought directly into the artwork through the use of real grape and red-fruit juices in the painting process. Their natural tones added depth and softness to the composition while creating a direct connection between the visual design and the ingredients behind the drink. This made flavour not only part of the inspiration, but part of the creative process itself.

The result

The final packaging brings together grapes, flavour, and traditional craft in one expressive limited edition. Handmade textures, natural colours, and the distinctive grapevine artwork give Vinea Rosé its own character while keeping it clearly connected to the wider Vinea brand. The result feels fresh, crafted, and unmistakably rooted in a passion for grapes.
